LOAF Terms of Use
Effective date: 10 October 2026
These are the terms for using LOAF, a personal money-tracking app for iPhone. By using LOAF you agree to them. They're written plainly, and they're short.
1. Who provides LOAF
LOAF is made and operated by Aaqib Mohammed Sali (the "Founder"), an individual based in Kerala, India ("LOAF"). You can reach LOAF at aaqib@theloafapp.com.
2. Who can use LOAF
You must be at least 18 years old. If you use LOAF, you're confirming that you are.
3. What LOAF is — and what it isn't
LOAF is a tool for seeing where your money goes and keeping some of it back. You enter your income and spending; LOAF organises it, shows you the picture, and helps you set money aside in baskets.
LOAF is not:
- Financial advice. Nothing in LOAF — no number, label, colour, message or nudge — is a recommendation about what you should do with your money. It is information about what you've told it. For advice, speak to someone qualified who knows your situation.
- A bank, wallet or payment service. LOAF never connects to your bank, never holds money and never moves it. Every figure in LOAF is one you typed in.
- A guarantee. LOAF can't promise you'll save more, spend less, or reach a goal. Those outcomes are yours.
4. Your data is your responsibility to enter
LOAF only has access to the data its users input. If a figure is wrong, out of date or missing, the data LOAF shows will be incorrect too. Please check LOAF's figures against your actual financial data before relying on them.
5. Your account
LOAF requires an account.
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- Give accurate information.
- You can delete your account at any time from inside the app. Deletion is permanent and removes all your data.
LOAF may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or is used to attack, abuse or disrupt LOAF.
6. Your licence to use LOAF
LOAF gives you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the same on Apple devices you own or control, under the terms governing the iOS App Store. You shall not copy, sell, rent, reverse-engineer, or make derivative works of LOAF, or use it to build a competing product. LOAF, its name, its character and its design are owned by the Founder.
7. Subscriptions and purchases
Some LOAF features may be offered for a price, as a one-off purchase or a subscription.
- All purchases are made through Apple's App Store. Apple handles the payment; LOAF never sees your card details.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage or cancel a subscription using your Apple Account settings at any time.
- Prices are shown in the App Store before you buy and may vary depending on the region.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store policy. LOAF cannot issue refunds directly.
Features offered free of cost are subject to change over time.
8. Acceptable use
LOAF cannot be used to carry out anything that is unlawful or to engage in any illegal activities, such as harming anyone, sending abuse through the support channel, or interfering with the service or other users. Users are not to access data that is not theirs. LOAF and its Founder will not be liable for any claim, loss or damage arising from such use.
9. Availability and changes
LOAF is provided as it is, and is developed continuously. Features may be added, changed or removed. LOAF does not warrant that the application will always be running or free of errors.
10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows:
- LOAF is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind.
- LOAF shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from its use or reliance on the figures it shows — including financial loss, lost data, or decisions you make based on LOAF.
- In the event of LOAF being held liable by a court of law having appropriate jurisdiction, its total liability is limited to the amount paid for its use in the twelve-month period before the claim, or ₹1,000, whichever is greater.
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else the law does not permit to be limited.
11. Third-party services
LOAF uses Google Firebase, Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple (for sign-in, backup and analytics). The users are bound by the terms applicable to the use of those services. LOAF's Privacy Policy enumerates the information the third parties receive.
12. Amendments to the terms and conditions
If there are any amendments made to the terms, the amended version will be posted on this website and will be notified to the users through the app.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be governed by the courts of Kerala, India, except in cases where laws pertaining to data protection and privacy apply.
